As a branch office ICP, the AX controller supports a small complement of T1 or E1 trunks and has IP trunks back to the main office ICP. Depending on the type of MMC and the protocol chosen, you can configure up to 30 digital trunks. In addition, the AX Controller supports IP phones and an IP console in the branch office. If you install a 4 GB flash in a branch office AX controller, it can also support embedded voice mail.
In a branch office configuration, you can manage the AX controller either
remotely through the embedded remote management feature of the main office ICP, or
locally through the System Administration Tool of the AX controller.
